The QNUK Level 2 Award in Principals of Workplace Risk Assessment (RQF) was designed in response to industry requirements for employees to be risk aware. Although not all employees will be expected to undertake risk assessments themselves, they may be asked to contribute to the process and will be expected to act always to protect their own health and safety and that of others.

Its main purpose is to enable learners to understand the basic principles of risk assessment. This qualification will, therefore, give all employees the ability to contribute to the process and act always to protect their own health and safety and that of others.

Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations employers have a legal duty to make a suitable and sufficient assessment of risks to the health and safety of employees and all those who may be affected.  Employers are obliged to appoint a competent person to assist in meeting this legal requirement.

This course will give a broad introduction to the main areas of risk assessment using scenario-based learning to raise awareness and develop an understanding of how to deal with hazards and risks in the workplace.

The QNUK Level 3 Award in Workplace Risk Assessment (RQF). This course is designed for candidates with a responsibility to conduct and review risk assessments. It covers the principles of risk assessment, the relationship between hazard and risk and requires learners to carry out their knowledge learned on the course, by undertaking a risk assessment.

This course provides a thorough understanding of the main categories of accidents and ill health, their socio-economic costs and the benefits of good health and safety management.

The QNUK Level 3 Award in Workplace Risk Assessment course is particularly useful for managers and supervisors, but it will be equally beneficial to individual workers, team leaders, technicians or any other personnel contributing to the risk assessment process.

Risk assessment is an essential part of workplace safety. Suitable and sufficient risk assessments will aid legal compliance, but will also effectively reduce the risks to the health and safety of employees and others within a workplace.

Employers with five or more employees need to record the significant findings or the risk assessment.

The QNUK Level 3 Award in Fire Risk Assessment Course is a two-day course designed for those who have the responsibility for writing and maintaining the fire risk assessment in the workplace.  This course is an OFQUAL accredited qualification through QNUK.

 As the ‘responsible person’ you must carry out a fire risk assessment of the workplace premises and review it regularly.  Risks need to be identified and appropriate fire safety measure put into place, such as; planning for emergencies, identifying people at risk, evaluate, remove or reduce the risks, providing staff with information and training in the event of a fire.  These are just a few of the key points which need to be addressed as part of a fire risk assessment.

The Fire Risk Assessment course is designed for delegates to identify hazards and take steps to prevent fire in order to protect the safety of occupants, visitors and those in the immediate vicinity. This course will offer practical hands-on experience in this area and allows delegates to gain experience in undertaking actual fire risk assessments.

Who should attend

This qualification is intended for those that are looking to undertake fire risk assessments in the workplaces.

This course is for anyone over 18 years of age. Candidates should be at least a level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent.
