This 3 day comprehensive training course is ideal for anyone wishing to become qualified as a first aider. It covers a wider range of subjects than covered by the Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification. It provides delegates with the skills and knowledge required to deal with first aid situations in higher risk workplaces. The course is assessed through 2 multiple choice question papers, practical observations and verbal questions. Successful completion results in QNUK certificate valid for 3 years.

QNUK Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (RQF)

Course Description

The QNUK Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (QCF) qualification is ideal for those providing first aid cover in sports activities including outdoor pursuits. It is specifically designed for those who are involved in many activities, including sports, leisure and recreation. Not only is Basic Life Support included, but many other conditions ranging from hypothermia to head injuries to sprains and strains to diabetes and asthma.

This course is designed to give people working in an outdoor environment an Ofqual certified qualification. The course is recognised by outdoor associations across the UK.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for people who want to receive training in activity first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in outside working environments. This course is ideal for people who have responsibility for taking groups of people on activity outings such as outdoor walks or bike rides. This course is suitable for members and leaders of activity and youth groups.

Course Outline

Days 1 – 2

The role of the first aider, contents of first aid kits (avoiding cross infection), recording of incidents and accidents, assessing the situation in an emergency, administering first aid to a casualty who;

  • is unconscious (including seizures)

  • requires cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • is choking

  • is wounded or bleeding

  • is in shock

  • has minor conditions – to include: minor cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters

    Administer first aid to a casualty with;

  • injuries to bones, muscles, joints including suspected spinal injury

  • sudden poisoning

  • burns and scalds

  • eye injuries

  • anaphylactic shock and use of auto-injectors (Epipen)

  • Recognise the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma & diabetes.

    You will be instructed to bring outdoor clothing as some of the scenarios will take place outdoors.

Course Description

The QNUK Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (QCF)  regulated, and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed to safely perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

With AEDs being found in more work and public places the use of these by employees and members of the public is on the increase. For employers, the reassurance that staff have a regulated qualification in the safe use of an AED will further reassure them of their own workplace safety level.

The qualification will qualify learners in the safe use of an AED and will assist them in understanding the management of such equipment.

It is ideal for individuals who are responsible for children and infants, who wish to gain a nationally accredited Level 2 Award. This 1-day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED.

Parents or family members who want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.
